Revolution of textile by banana fiber

Revolution of textile by banana fiber

Banana is a famous well-known fruit specially in yellow color all across the word. Banana has too much natural nutrition fact that makes human body more healthy and strong. Today’s we realize that banana is not only one purpose we cultivate banana tree.  Because banana stalk can be used to extract valuable fiber. That fiber could be used to make products like tea bag, sanitary napkin, floor and wall mat. Recently japan used this fiber to make yen bank notes, car tyres and many more. The multipurpose usage of banana fiber increasing the demanding value recent years. Expert says this banana fiber might brought to light by Japanese and Nepalis on ancient time. When they think about waste the entire banana tree by cut and through into dustbin. They find out the stalk of banana fiber can be produced to make rope that take too much force to get it breaking point.

The archaeologists say may be three banana trees was first cultivated in Kuk valley of New Guinea around 8,000 BCE but it could be occurred throughout South-East Asia and the South Pacific. In the time of 13th century they use banana stalk as a source of fiber. But when people get a better, strong and smoot fiber like cotton and silk the banana fiber faded away by time.

Todays those ancient thought giving us amazing silk grade banana fiber by Turning a waste into profit.

Banana fiber composed

  • cellulose
  • hemicelluloses
  • lignin

It’s like bamboo and ramie fibers. But this fiber’s fineness and spin ability are better than bamboo and ramie fibers.

Properties of banana fiber

  • The chemical composition is cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin.
  • It has better fineness and spin ability which include ring spinning, open -end spinning, best fiber spinning and semi-worsted spinning.
  • it is strong fiber & it has smaller elongation and
  • its weight is light.
  • It has strong moisture absorb quality.
  • Best fiber of banana extract from bark of banana tree.
  • This fiber is bio-degradable.
  • It is ECO-friendly fiber.
  • Banana fiber comes from wasted banana tree which we thought worthless.

Production of banana fiber

  • Banana tree is harvest in field
  • Stems are peeled to extract sheaths
  • Sheaths are fed into machine
  • Extracted fiber in sun dried for a day
  • This fiber is ready for craft
  • Fiber used for handicrafts

Value of this fiber is increasing for its demand and multipurpose usages all over the world. Global textile industries took an important step to turn a waste material into profitable fiber.

Made in Bangladesh RMG

Made-in-Bangladesh-Featured-Image

Bangladesh is a tiny country in south Asia and this country bound by India to the north, east and west, Myanmar to the southeast and by the Bay of Bengal to the south. Over 163,187,000 people and 147,610 km2 area this country increasing its growing economy so faster. Economical experts say there is a huge possibility to achieve approximately 23rd position on world economical grading in 2050. The population of Bangladesh was a biggest sin as people thought but today its turn into a strong economic changing tool of Bangladesh. With the youth of this country and expert technician, operator, labor and well-educated engineers creating the history of economic revocation of Bangladesh.

Made in Bangladesh (M&S)

Made in Bangladesh (M&S)

After get the freedom in 1971 from Pakistan this country stablished a constitution in 4 November 1972. For the war of 1971, this country got an economical shock and experienced a famine across the country. From that fatal situation, this country’s economy growing rapidly till today. Today’s Bangladesh is not like how it was!

Few years back when I was try to learn English, I needed someone foreigner (who can speak English) to practice so that I can learn faster. As far as I can reach someone by online messenger or any social networks. When somebody ask me where are you from? They don’t recognize my country at first try but today I think some of those people across the universe going to know about Bangladesh.

What we get from RMG internationally business? (Ready Made Garments)

The economy of Bangladesh is largely dependent on agriculture to feed the huge amount of population. However, the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector has emerged as the biggest earner of foreign currency. In 1972, the World Bank approximated the gross domestic product (GDP) of Bangladesh at USD 6.29 billion, in 2014, the GDP stood at USD 173.82 billion, growing by almost 27 times in a matter of four decades. Bangladesh’s exports industry alone comprised USD 31.2 billion in financial year 2014-15, 81.69% of which was made up by ready-made garments. On its own, the knitwear sector encompasses 39.83% of total exports—a staggering USD 12.43 billion. The RMG sector has experienced an exponential growth since the 1980s. The sector contributes significantly to the GDP. It also provides employment to around 4.2 million Bangladeshis, mainly women from low income families. According to Bangladesh export processing zone authority (BEPZA) more than 64% of female worker are taking a part to production.

The growing Bangladesh has possibility to get more international importer of garments (RMG). Here is the list of the name of internationally recognized clothing fashion brand which are consistently huge number of garments are made in Bangladesh.

Ultrasonic in wet processing technology

Ultrasonic in wet processing technology

Textile wet processing get the challenges of reduce environment pollution to save the green world. This is so important to reduce usages of water chemical and dyes in wet processing. Wet processing is most of important department in textile which is plays a vital role to makes color and various textile process. Ultrasonic makes the wet processing easy and better than conventional system in a few selected methods. Let’s discuss the process of ultrasonic.

Meaning of ultrasonic (Ultrasound)

Ultrasonic made from two different words, ultra mean beyond and sonic mean sound. Ultrasonic defined the sound which limit is more than human limitations.  Ultrasonic is a sound waves which frequencies are above the limitation of human audibility. More than hearing ability (>20 KHz) are called ultrasonic.

The human ear can respond to minute pressure variations in the air if they are in the audible frequency range, roughly 20 Hz – 20 kHz. It is capable of detecting pressure variations of less than one billionth of atmospheric pressure.

Sound Classification

  • 1-20 Hz – Infrasound
  • 20 Hz-20 KHz – Acoustic (low Base Notes)
  • 20 KHz-2 MHz – Animals and chemistry, medical and destructive (Ultrasound).
  • 2 MHz-200 MHz – Diagnostic and NDE

Production of ultrasonic.

Ultrasonic can be produced by following methods

  • Piezo-electric generator
  • Magneto-striction generator

Advantage of ultrasonic in textile wet processing.

  • Increasing material swelling properties in water.
  • Reducing glass transition temperature of the fiber or cloth.
  • Increasing fiber and dye bath partition co-efficiency. Enhancing transport of the dye to the fiber surface by reducing the boundary layer thickness.
  • Saving energy.
  • Breaking of micelles and high molecular weight aggregation into uniform dispersion in the dye bath.
  • Reduction the consumption of chemical and dyes.
  • Reduction of processing time.
  • Improvement of in quality.
  • Easier process control.
  • No hazard effect during process running.
  • Reducing the pollution load on effluent water.
  • Saving in energy.
  • Low production cost and makes more profit.

Ultrasonic in textile industry

This is the most effective process in textile wet processing which is can be divided in to two main category.

  • Utilization in auxiliary process
    • Sizing process
    • Emulsion preparation
  • The modification of textile wet processing.
    • Desizing processing
    • Scouring and bleaching
    • Enzymatic treatment
    • Dyeing
      • Dispersion
      • Degassing
      • Diffusion
    • Finishing
    • Washing
    • Cleaning or washing action
    • Advantages
      • Deeper and quicker cleaning effect
      • Low energy expense
      • Reduced water expenses.
      • Reduced detergent and other accessories expense.
      • It does not damage the fiber.

Ultrasonic is a different way to increase wet processing procedure and let it be so effective. Though this is a process of sound weave but it is reduce the cost of goods and increase profit.
